Golden Spruce

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 11 meters (36.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 523 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wonky trunk covered in hard, waxy, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.

The sparse patches of branches are very long and thick, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of small, gray-green needles. The needles themselves are strong.

In late summer it produces giant, deep yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
