Silverberry

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 22 meters (72.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 316 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in knobbly, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is black.

The small bunches of branches are short and thin and are covered with handfuls of soft, huge, perforated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are azure and beige.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, gold blossoms with 6 triangular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In late summer it forms large, red berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It comes in 8 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
All parts of the fruit tree are edible.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
