Golden Fir
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This large tree grows up to 65 meters (213.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 201 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a branched, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.
The branches are short, rigid and upright, covered with very large amounts of giant, hazel and emerald needles. The needles themselves are frail.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, light brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for making paper
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
