Crimson Vine

This short vine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 17 feet (5.2 meters) and growing as high as 1,000 feet (304.8 meters).

It takes 4 months for the green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are hard and brittle.

The long, narrow, fuzzy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are blood red and green, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many small indigo flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces a handful of tiny fruits.
