Bluefruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, crooked trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, dark green bark, and inside, the dense wood is black.
The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of giant, asymmetrical leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in silver and vibrant blue varieties.
In early spring, it produces lots of tiny, black blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like rotting meat.
In mid-autumn it produces large, wide fruit. The smooth caramel skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft purple flesh is salty and syrupy. The olive seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
