Clingspire Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 570 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is gray.
The small handful of branches are very short and thin and are covered with sparse amounts of sticky, small, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are brown on the edges and black at the center.
In early spring, it produces a handful of tiny, blue blossoms with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have no scent.
In late summer it forms giant, grey, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
