Clinging Vine Maple

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 47 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many slender, straight stems covered in knobbly, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of large, sickle shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in lilac, bold purple and copper varieties, sturdy and smooth.

It produces a handful of tiny, lime flowers with perforated petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like coffee. In mid-autumn it forms giantdull red berries.
