Emerald Tree Moss

This green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is very frail; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
