Black Bark Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 176 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is yellow.
The small handful of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of crispy, giant, slender, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in violet and indigo varieties.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, peach blossoms with circular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotting meat.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, white, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
