Sunburst

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thick, and the small, orange-yellow leaves are broad, flat with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

5 to 7 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 44 cm (17.3 inches) wide, with petals that are sky blue in the center, peach in the middle and azure at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like mint, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
