Waterstem Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short, green or lilac grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in sparse patches that are flexible.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, ashy yellow flower.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of large grains.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
