Twistwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in ridged, yellow bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are tall, rigid and upright, covered with thick bunches of tiny, moss green and gray needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces large, beige, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for making strong rope
