Bronze

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 5.7 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its orange or purple stem is thick and splits into many branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are light moss green on the underside and are stiff, pointed with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single tiny flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 28 cm (11.0 inches) wide, with bronze petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a tube made up of several raised, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like apple, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The leaves are excellent for making pulp fibers.
