Bluefruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows and flowers repeatedly for more than two years)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in delicate, ridged, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is dark brown.
The branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of tiny, sickle shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel or olive, with subtle green patches.
In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, lime blossoms with 4 oval-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like fruity.
In mid-autumn it produces small, long, curved fruit. The fuzzy purple skin is thick and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is sour and oily. The gold seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
