Violet Cube

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thick, and the miniature, lime green leaves are dark silver on the underside and are long, tapering with irregular edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 6 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of violet. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 20 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like ashes, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
