Blacktuft Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This small, dark brown grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thick stalks grow in sparse patches that are flexible and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, black tuft.

During the late summer, it produces excessive amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of small grains.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The sap causes severe rashes
It commonly grows in large patches.
