Silverleaf
Tree type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.
The numerous branches are very short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of rough, miniature, very thick leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to beige at the top.
In early spring, it produces several tiny, silver blossoms with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like onion.
In late summer it forms large, bronze, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It comes in 6 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
