Indigo Cupflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This large flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its moss green stems grow in bunches of 6 and are thick with a curved tip, and the miniature, burgundy leaves are dark silver on the underside and are perforated with jagged edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with petals that are caramel in the center, brown in the middle and indigo at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of 4 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like old shoes, and it has lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
