Indigo Rosebud
Flower type: Annual (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)This colossal flower grows up to 14.6 feet (4.4 meters) tall. Its green stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, silver leaves are finger-like with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
2 to 5 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 56 cm (22.0 inches) wide, with petals that are generally indigo; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 29 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. They are very delicate.
It has the faintest scent that smells like citrus, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The stems are covered in large spikes.
