Yellowpine
Tree type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)This modest-sized tree grows up to 18 meters (59.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 367 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in hard, waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the hard wood is pine-coloured.
The branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of soft, giant, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in pink, olive and slate varieties.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, light green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
Several parts of the fruit tree have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
