Sunset Glow

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The narrow stem is yellow-green, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible light grey spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid florescent red petals decorated with turquoise dots and a brown central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like fresh linen.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the copper flesh is sticky, and the indigo sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
