Violet

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 51 feet (15.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in thick, smooth, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of large, needle-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are violet and cream.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, grey blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like old shoes.

In late autumn it produces large, oblong fruit. The smooth orange skin is thin and slightly sour, and the slightly crunchy azure flesh is salty and very dry. The dark grey seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
