Indigo
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This small leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is slate or hazel, and is dotted with small brilliant yellow spines. The smooth-edged, wispy leaves are indigo and red. Small amounts of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are tough, and take little effort to detach.
It is slow growing, taking 28 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid yellow petals decorated with red lines and a gold central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 15 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like perfume.
The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the olive flesh is slimy, and the amber sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
