Burgundy Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in thin clumps that are light and frail and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, slate spikelet.

During the late summer, it produces an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of large grains.
