Scented Taperblossom
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its drab yellow or cream stems grow in bunches of 4 and are wispy and straight, and the miniature, yellow-green leaves are long, tapering with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.
Hundreds of tiny flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are grey on the edges and copper at the center. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of dozens of raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has a strong scent that smells like fish, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
