Stiff Pointed Fuzzy Bine, Matted

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 50 feet (15.2 meters) and growing as high as 75 feet (22.9 meters).

It takes 3 years for the gray stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The stiff, pointed, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to peach at the top, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the bine produces thousands of large lilac flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a few tiny fruits.
