Bronzeheart
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its florescent green stems grow in bunches of 3 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the huge, cream and white leaves are perforated with serrated edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
5 to 8 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are generally bronze; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of 7 widely spaced, narrow petals. They detach easily.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like vanilla, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It makes excellent hedges.
