Emerald Spike Moss

This emerald or caramel moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainforests, In damp forests, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very resilient.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
