Spiny Copperplant

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stem is lime green, and is covered in sharp spines. The wide, slate trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter. Its orange-yellow branches trail down towards the ground.

The wavy-edged, 7 pointed leaves are either bronze or copper, with lime patches. They are light, but easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 7 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are caramel in the center, caramel in the middle and gold at the edges grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 33 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the azure flesh is soft, and the azure sap is thin.

It is suitable for making paper
