Rippled Silverbell

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its red stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, orange-yellow leaves are perforated with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

2 to 4 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with silver petals that gradient shift to blue on the outer edge. The central disk is blood red. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They are sturdy.

It has an intense scent that smells like garlic, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
