It has many wide, curved stems covered in thick, ridged, dark green bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.
The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with large amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally cream, strong and sticky.
In mid-spring it produces lots of large, vivid purple flowers with broad, flat petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like pot-purri.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
