Crimsonvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 577 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wonky trunk covered in very thick, cracked, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are very long and thick and are covered with large amounts of rough, small, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid magenta or crimson, with green patches.

In late summer it forms large, hazel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
