Yellowbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 13 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, twisting stems covered in smooth, yellow bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are very long and thick that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in lime, brown and grey varieties, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.

In mid-spring it produces lots of medium-sized, indigo blossoms with long, narrow petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like old books.

In early autumn small stiff, pointed fruits ripen. The crispy dull green skin is peel-able and edible when cooked; it is sour, and the crunchy cream flesh is bitter and very dry. The florescent orange seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for making paper
