Bloodrose

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big flower grows up to 6.9 feet (2.1 meters) tall. Its lime stem is very thin, and the tiny, lime green leaves are very thick with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 58 cm (22.8 inches) wide, with petals that are blue in the center, blood red in the middle and light brown at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 45 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a weak scent that smells like rich perfume, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator and is ignored by most insect species.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
