Orange Puffgrass
Grass type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized, orange-yellow grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The fan-like stalks grow in extensive patches that are flimsy and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, white puff.
During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
The sap is edible and extremely spicy.
