Brown Moss

This light brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands, In moorlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very delicate.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores.
