Lilac

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big flower grows up to 4.0 feet (1.2 meters) tall. Its green stem is very thin, and the large, moss green leaves are broad, flat with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Lots of tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with faded red petals on the lower layer and yellow petals decorated with lilac dots on the inner layer. The central disk is florescent blue. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of 4 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like meat, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
