Crimson Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 265 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in fine, smooth, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, huge, very thin leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are crimson and bold purple.

In late summer it forms tiny, yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can survive a long time without water.
