Silverbell

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are broad, flat with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are purple on the underside and silver on the top. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of handfuls of tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a faint scent that smells like fish, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
