Bloodvine

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big caudiciform grows up to 78 feet (23.8 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is gray-green, and is covered in sharp spines. The thick, gnarled, olive trunk can grow to as much as 78 feet (23.8 meters) in diameter. Its green branches are short, thin and wispy.

The toothed-edged, thick leaves are blood red and aquamarine. They are flexible, and detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 21 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of pink and white, with a violet central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 32 curved petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like glue.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the light yellow flesh is sticky, and the subtle green sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
