Violet
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 32 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has dozens of branched, straight stems covered in thin, cracked, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is brown.
The branches trail down towards the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are violet at the bottom and peach with lime zig-zags at the top, rigid and waxy.
In mid-spring it produces several tiny, bold blue blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.
In early autumn cuboid fruits ripen. The hairy yellow skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is savoury, and the crunchy cream flesh is bitter and sticky. The muted orange seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.
