Creamfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in very thick, smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale yellow.

The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of giant, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are cream on the sides and silver at the center.

In early spring, it produces balls of giant, turquoise blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like baby powder.

In early autumn it produces small, pleated fruit. The hairy slate skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy cream flesh is bitter and oily. The red seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for making paper
