Yellowflare

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is thick and splits into 10 branching stems at the base, and the large, orange-yellow leaves are perforated with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with alternating petals of slate and white, with a cyan central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 11 petals. They detach easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

All parts of the shrub are edible.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
