Saffron
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized, yellow-green grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The wispy stalks grow in extensive patches that are sturdy and flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, beige tuft.
During the late summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of large grains.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
