Crimsonwood
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This big tree grows up to 86 meters (282.2 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, twisting trunk covered in very thick, cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.
The branches trail down across the ground, covered with large amounts of large, gray-green needles. The needles themselves are strong.
In late summer it produces tiny, crimson, shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
