Amber

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 39 feet (11.9 meters) tall. The pleated stem is amber, and is covered in hundreds of fine, yellow, hair-like spines. The stocky, olive trunk can grow to as much as 39 feet (11.9 meters) in diameter. Its pink-red branches are short, thin and wispy.

The irregular-edged, long, narrow leaves are aquamarine at the bottom and pink with brown edges at the top. They are frail, but detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid cyan petals and an indigo central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 45 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like alcohol.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the violet flesh is soft, and the azure sap is thin and can kill if consumed.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
