Silver Zigzag
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 66 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many very thick, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is light brown.
The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, finger-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid light purple with silver zig-zags, delicate and sticky.
In mid-spring it produces several giant, cyan blossoms with 6 cylindrical shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like a damp log.
In midwinter finger-like fruits ripen. The clammy white skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is savoury, and the very soft light purple flesh is bitter and spicy and very juicy. The blood red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
