Cyan Petal Bloom

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its green or beige stem is wispy, and the miniature, brown leaves are dark red on the underside and are spear shaped with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Around 90 medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are cyan on the edges and white at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 11 petals. They are sturdy.

It has a soft scent that smells like pine needles, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.

All parts of the cactus are edible.
