Magenta

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in silky, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of large, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are yellow on the sides and magenta at the center.

In early spring, it produces clusters of small, indigo blossoms with 5 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like baby powder.

In late summer it produces small, perforated fruit. The fuzzy slate skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is sweet and sour, and the very soft yellow flesh is sweet and very juicy. The washed-out red seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
