Crimson Leaf Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This modest-sized tree grows up to 59 meters (193.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 613 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, angular trunk covered in ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.
The tangled mess of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of smooth, giant, 6 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid amber or bold red, with purple edges.
In late summer it forms large, light brown aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
